Ilka Parent is originally from Germany, where she completed her studies in Psychology as a Diplom-Psychologist. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina and Texas, and has completed her Advanced Certification with EAGALA. She has worked extensively with our service members and their families for the past 19 years.
About five years ago, Ms. Parent learned about Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, which is now being offered as one of many treatment modalities through Minds-n-Motion, LLC.
For our EAP sessions, Equine Specialists are part of the team.
The horses on our team are always chosen for their temperament and personality. Our equine activities are based on the EAGALA model: we use a team approach: our mental health professionals and Equine Specialists are skilled, energetic and compassionate professionals.
